This is Kevin Costner & Modern West's third and most prominently rock’n’roll record, "From Where I Stand". The evolution of the band has seemed to thrive since their last album becoming not only more developed, but also tighter and with a better sense of unity within themselves as they accent their way to rock’n’roll. Even with Costners “day job” (a.k.a. his acting career) taking up so much time, fortunately they were able to get into the famous Blackbird Studios of Nashville and rock through the album in a matter of days.

Their first release in 2008, “Untold Truths” was more in the relm of the traditional American music, whereas the second, “Turn It On” (2009), started to veer to the earthier rock-roots. Now fully developed as a band they have taken that one way road to rock’n’roll, trailblazing their way up the ladder to the top; Costner’s main influences being motown and folk. With the still bluesy, yet pumped-up rock riffs from John Coinman, guitarist and Costner’s vocals soaring through the harmonies, they groove above the wicked bass style of Blair Forward and rhythmic tempos of Larry Cobb. Mix this all with the guitar of Teddy Morgan, add the last guitar and keys of Park Chisolm and let it all simmer with Morgan for the outcome: “From Where I Stand”.
These new 10 tracks are the products of the “Turn It On” tour this past year which sparked enough creativity and mused them enough for a whopping 30 song ideas. Also including “Let Go Tonight”, a song written for the album, Germany’s new pop-star Nena collaborated with Costner for the brilliant duet.
