H.E.A.T
Biography

Unless you are a fan of Swedish melodic rockers Europe, you may never have heard of the area of Upplands Väsby, but not only have the ‘Final Countdown’ multi-platinum album sellers originated there, but current Swedish rockers, H.E.A.T are now the latest export of this little known part of the country. Having emerged in January 2007, when two bands who shared the same singer decided to get together, H.E.A.T. were born out of the ashes of Trading Fate and Dream. The bands had been formed over the previous eight years (they were VERY early starters!), and had had many different mutations before they eventually blossomed into the band they are today.

Their infectious Rock’n’Roll party anthems are all about having a good time and wanting everyone to feel good - something that comes across on their self titled debut. The album was released in the spring of 2008 through Stormvox – the label belonging to actor Peter Stormare, to worldwide critical acclaim. A special-edition of the album was also released in Japan including the bonus track, "Stay - Demo Version".

The band was championed (as most Swedish bands are) at Sweden Rock Festival in 2008. They appeared in the Radio Rockklassiker tent where, in previous years, the likes of Wig Wam, The Poodles and Crash Diet have played to very enthusiastic crowds and all enjoyed major media exposure. The H.E.A.T. set was no different. Their reception was amazing and the Swedish Rock fans found a new fresh band to follow. In fact, the fan support in Sweden was so overwhelming, that H.E.A.T were voted “Best new band” by the listeners of the Rock show Dist on National Radio. And their prize? To play the Sweden Rock Festival the following year too!

When the UK Rock festival Firefest V was announced 2008, originally the line-up included Pretty Maids, but due to logistical issues they pulled out with only two weeks to go before the festival. A frantic search then ensued to find a replacement. This from the Firefest website at the time:

“Two weeks to show time is generally not the greatest time to be looking for a replacement act, but we have struck gold! H.E.A.T., the latest Hard Rock sensations from Sweden, currently riding high with their critically acclaimed self titled debut album, have accepted our invitation to play“. Following a European tour supporting the magnificent Edguy and ex-Angra singer Andre Matos spanning one month, eight countries and twenty four shows at the start of 2009, H.E.A.T. were given the opportunity to appear in Melodifestivalen (the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest) with the song "1000 Miles". They made it all the way to the final, “1000 Miles“ made top 10 in the Swedish single charts, became a smash hit and one of 2009’s top ten most played songs on Swedish radio.

In June 2009, the band once again graced the stage at Sweden Rock Festival, this time on the Zeppelin stage to a crowd of several thousand screaming fans. It was so encouraging to see so many people, young and not-so-young, singing along to every word of these catchy, uplifting Rock songs. Sunshine, good friends and good music – a perfect combination.

Just before H.E.A.T yet again played Firefest
in October 2009, they performed a blinding gig at the renowned Loud Park Festival in Tokyo, Japan. The festival line-up included Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Dokken, Gotthard, Arch Enemy and many more.   This young band (all in their early twenties) has countless gigs, including a headline UK tour and a bunch of festival gigs, TV appearances and more promo appearances than you can imagine, under their collective belts.

H.E.A.T has already taken over their home country Sweden, and now it’s your turn to feel the heat.
Their upcoming, second album "Freedom Rock", is nothing but a Melodic Rock masterpiece, and can not become anything but a huge success among the Rock audience of the world.   From the opening track “Everybody Wants to Be Somebody”, to “Look the Other Way”, with it’s larger than life hooks, to the swagger of “Danger Road” and to the anthem “Beg, Beg, Beg”, H.E.A.T prove that the hype is true, and that they are destined for great things!   Tobias Sammet from Edguy and Avantasia is a big fan of the band, and can be found doing a duet with singer Kenny Leckremo on “Black Night”. Leckremo’s vocals throughout the album are stunning, and he emerges as a worthy heir to all the Classic Rock singers we know and love.   The incredible songwriting skills of this young band is astounding, combining melody, hooks and groove into a red hot sophomore album that will blow you away!   These six musicians are both individually and collectively accomplished, and they are on a mission of world domination! The only thing left to do is to surrender to the H.E.A.T!   "Freedom Rock" will be released May 28th on the international Pop-Rock label earMUSIC.
