Love: Album Parts One & Two

Angels & Airwaves is Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge‘s “other-band“ that finds him singing and playing guitar while Matt Wachter (formerly of 30 Seconds to Mars) plays bass , David Kennedy (ex Box Car Racer) plays guitar and Adam Willard (ex The Offspring) hits the drums.
But the band’s goal from the beginning was to create an artistic spirit that departed significantly in style and scope from any of the musicians’ previous efforts. Their resulting vision is an unparalleled multi-sensory experience that engages both imagery and sound.
Since its formation in 2005, Angels & Airwaves (AVA) has strived to be more than just a rock band. AVA has embraced multimedia technology to become an art project that encompasses a wide vision of human themes, all imprinted with a unique musical soundtrack. The innovative experience that is AVA supports an independent ethos that unites several different artistic mediums, including not only self-released songs and albums but videos, films, live events and a novel approach to fan-artist interaction.

AVA has recorded three studio albums: 2006’s US gold-certifi ed “We Don’t Need to Whisper”; 2007’s “I-Empire”, which rocketed into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 charts; and 2010’s album, “LOVE”, the first part of the soundtrack to the eponymous independent Science-Fiction movie which has been produced by the band.
Premiered in early 2011, the movie has been shown at fi lm festivals all over America with an amazing feedback from both, fans and critics and is also going to be shown at European film festivals shortly.
To date, the band has sold more than two million records worldwide. Each album featured chart-topping singles that became mainstays at modern rock stations around the globe.
The band around Tom DeLonge just fi nalized the 2nd part of the “LOVE” series and are ready to release the complete soundtrack “LOVE: Album Parts One & Two” in November 2011.

“LOVE: Album Parts One & Two” is the band’s fourth full length studio album and perfectly fi ts the band’s vision for crossing over into different mediums while being the soundtrack to the highly acclaimed independent movie “LOVE”.
While the first CD on the double album, was made available as download for a limited period of time on the band’s website (but never offi cially released on CD), the second CD is a completely new album.
“LOVE: Album Parts One & Two” is launched by the single ‘Anxiety’ and the supporting high-tech video featuring the band giving an energetic performance of the epic track.
Another key-track is ‘Surrender’, an arena-ready anthem that imagines a global youth movement rising up “from the White House lawn to the Middle East,” envisioning a defiant mass of bodies dancing while bombs drop all around them. Showing the entire range of AVA’s sound in 2011, ‘One Last Thing’ finds DeLonge detailing a long list of modern life’s many distractions, painting a picture of confusion and excess that entails what it means to be “living large in America,” as jangling guitars and a stuttering beat lift the tune into transcendence.
