edel entertainment creating new structures for recorded music
Hamburg – edel AG in Hamburg is restructuring its edel entertainment subsidiary to establish an even more efficient base for its all important proprietary repertoire within its recorded music operations. The distinction which has been drawn between national and international product for quite some time has now been officially cast in the following structure: In addition to his previous responsibility for edel media & entertainment, Sören Janssen is now also overseeing national artist business under the “edel records” label. Max Vaccaro, hitherto head of A&R, is responsible for all international product with immediate effect. Janssen and Vaccaro are in charge of their respective departments as director of marketing and A&R, respectively. Oliver Hagedorn has retained his position as director of edel motion, the Company’s DVD label.
Marcel Kaffenberger, director of marketing + public relations at edel entertainment GmbH, has decided to leave edel after nine years with the company. In doing so, he is putting his own personal plans for the future into practice and will be going into business on his own. Recently, Kaffenberger has played a crucial role in the efforts to restructure edel entertainment and, as an external service provider, will be working on his vision of establishing a new type of direct sales and marketing structure for the edel group. Comments Michael Haentjes: “We greatly regret Marcel Kaffenberger’s decision but are pleased that we have been able to retain him as a consultant to our company. Marcel completed his training and passed many important career milestones at edel and has demonstrated that he is able to combine creativity with a sense of responsibility. We wish him all the best for his promising new company ComeUnited.com.”
