Half-year results 2006
Europe’s leading independent music group continuesly successful.
Hamburg - The edel music group has continued its positive development in the first six months of the fiscal year 2006. Especially thanks to a very good Christmas quarter, the company improved most of its key figures in the period from October 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006.
The edel group’s sales increased by 10% to 90.7 million EUR, compared to 82.7 million EUR in the first half of the previous financial year. The half-year earnings before taxes (EBT) improved by 5% to 5.5 million EUR, compared to 5.2 million EUR in 2005. The group result as of March 31, 2006 improved to a net profit of 3.2 million EUR (March 31, 2005: 3.0 million EUR). Half-year EBITDA was 9.6 million EUR (March 31, 2005: 9.8 million EUR), while EBIT increased to 6.3 million EUR (2005: 6.2 million EUR).
The group’s operational cash-flow was 8.7 million EUR (March 31, 2005: 12.9 million EUR), accompanied by an increase of investments of 4.4 million EUR (first half of 2005: 3.7 million EUR). At the same time, bank liabilities and other loans were lowered by 8.9 million EUR, compared to a reduction of 4.4 million EUR in the same period of the previous year. Cash and cash equivalents in the edel group as of March 31, 2006 stood at 10.0 million EUR (March 31, 2005: 16.6 million EUR), the equity capital was 36.1 million EUR (March 31, 2005: 33.9 million EUR).
