Edel Kids celebrates 25 years of “The Lollipops” – A look back at the success story

The children’s band “Die Lollipops” was founded 25 years ago – a music project that became one of the most successful children’s entertainment formats in Germany with its mix of chart hits, classics and humorous, age-appropriate lyrics. Between 2000 and 2010, a total of four generations of girls appeared as Lollipops on stage, in the studio and in front of the camera.
1st generation: Gina, Janet & Nathalie (2000-2002)
2nd generation: Ronja, Joanna & Johanna (2003-2004)
3rd generation: Maike & Maria (2005-2007)
4th generation: Susi & Fiona (2008-2010)
During this time, 17 albums were released, including best-ofs and numerous DVD releases. The most popular songs include titles such as “Ein Hut, ein Stock, ein Regenschirm”, “Sommer der Lollipops”, ‘Dankeschön’, “Urlaub unter Freunden” and “Gib mir bitte einen Kuss”. The band was initially conceived and produced under the aegis of Peter Hoffmann. From 2006, Schneiderbuch Verlag also published four children’s novels about two girls on their way to becoming pop stars.
The anniversary meeting
On July 10, 2025, all previous generations of Lollipops came together in Hamburg for a big anniversary reunion. Many former members and project participants took the opportunity to meet up again after many years, exchange ideas and look back together on the band’s successful history. The meeting was characterized by warm reunions, vivid memories and the joy of what was created together – a music project that has shaped many paths and childhoods – and still leaves its mark today.
“We are very happy about this special anniversary – and even happier that so many former companions have traveled here, some even from far away. I still remember the recordings at the weekend in the studio of successful producer Peter Hoffmann near Lüneburg – the girls went to school during the week. It was a very special time, almost like a vacation camp with pizza, music and lots of fun. The moment we made it into the top 20 of the German album charts was of course unforgettable – suddenly we were standing next to artists like Silbermond, a-ha and Eminem. Whether on the Toggo Tour, the ZDF-Fernsehgarten or other big TV shows – our live performances were also a highlight. Thousands of spectators, cheering fans and, above all, the shining eyes of children in front of the stage made every show a magical experience. Now we are looking back on these 25 years and celebrating our success with the release of a best-of album – available on all streaming platforms.”
