Edel Verlagsgruppe launches social media campaign for solidarity with the book trade: #SolidaritätBuchhandel
Hamburg, 19th of March 2020
Under the hashtag #SolidaritätBuchhandel, the Edel Verlagsgruppe (Publishing Group) is initiating a social media campaign for the stationary book trade that reaches millions.
Together with authors, influencers, book bloggers and numerous trade partners, millions of followers are to be called up on social media: Support the local independent bookstores now. Order your books online or by phone from your favourite local bookseller and have them delivered to your home. You can find the bookstores in your area digitally at www.buchhandlung-finden.de.
The campaign is supported by numerous authors from the Edel Verlagsgruppe, including Dr. Anne Fleck, Birgit Schrowange, Michael Nast, Nova Meierhenrich, Fabian Kahl, Mirja Regensburg, Cathy Hummels, Lucinde Hutzenlaub, Rick Goldmann, Angelina Kirsch, André and Shari Dietz, Sofia Tsakiridou, Dana Schwandt, Sarah Tschernigow, Lina Mallon, Lena Kuhlmann, Nena Schink, Torsten Woywood, Katharina Afflerbach, Bettina Hennig and Benjamin Melzer, who address their fans with the hashtag #SolidarityBookstore.
More authors and celebrities from Edel will follow in the next few days.
In times of corona and legally required store closures, it is more than ever the priority goal of Edel Verlagsgruppe to support the stationary trade and to preserve its existence.
“In this very difficult situation, it is important for us to send a signal of solidarity for the stationary trade. This is why we want to use our social media campaign to direct frequency to the online shops of the stationary trade. All retail partners – but of course also other publishers and their authors – are invited to support the campaign via their channels in order to increase the distribution even further”, says Ilja Müller-Klug, Deputy Managing Director Book Sales.
Dr. Olaf Conrad, Managing Director Book Sales of the Edel Verlagsgruppe, adds: “We believe that, despite all the excitement, it is good for people to treat themselves to a nice book now and to give themselves a piece of privacy. This applies all the more to the time spent with the family and reading together with children. And our books offer the important information that we as citizens need now.”
All publishers in the Edel Verlagsgruppe support this campaign on their social media platforms: Edel Books, Eden Books, ZS Verlag, Edel Elements, Edel Kids Books, Dr. Oetker Verlag, Moewig.
